Prince Harry plays in USA

Hot Prince Harry

The prince, 24, played in the charity game on Governors Island in New York Harbor, and drew a crowd that included Madonna, actresses Kate Hudson and Chloe Sevigny, and musician LL Cool J, as well as many ordinary citizens. The Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic was a fundraiser for Sentebale, the charity that Harry has set up with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help poor children and AIDS orphans in the small African nation.

Funny Prince Harry

His team, named after the charity, defeated the opposing Black Watch team 6-5. Harry assisted in the winning goal in the final seconds, drawing the biggest cheer of the afternoon. Both teams included prominent polo stars like Argentine Nacho Figueras, also a Ralph Lauren model, who played for Black Watch. The event was free to the public, but guests in the VIP tent on the opposite side of the field had paid from $50,000 (£31,000) a table down to $500 a head to picnic on the lawn.

After the match, the prince took a coast guard boat up the Hudson River for an unannounced visit to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on Manhattan's west side. He inspected the Second World War aircraft carrier and the cockpit of a retired British Airways Concorde jet. Museum president Bill White said the staff presented the prince with a section of the 1943 carrier's original wooden flight deck. Also present was a British Marine commando, Joe Townsend, who lost both legs while on duty in Afghanistan.

Prince Harry

It was the second and final day of Harry's first official visit to the United States, which began with a sober visit on Friday to the site of the September 11 terrorist attacks. On Saturday morning, the prince toured Harlem's Children Zone, a community organization that offers families social and educational services. He and Prince Seeiso chatted with students working preparing for an exam. Harry has been described as the "party prince" and his New York trip seemed designed partly to counter that image with a focus on his charity work.

Hot Prince Harry

Speaking before the polo match, Harry said: "Prince Seeiso and I both lost our mothers when we were very young. We set up Sentebale in their memory, and because my mother loved this city, it makes this occasion all the more poignant for me." In the crowd, Mike Hallman, visiting the city from North Carolina, enjoyed the match with his family. "My kids have never seen polo before," he said. His nine-year-old son Jason added: "It's pretty exciting. I have never seen a prince."

Sexy Beyonce

'Bootylicious singer Beyonce has some choice words for women who spend hours slaving at the sports club. "To me, it's sexier when it doesn't look like you go to the gym,". "If you look like you've been spending a lot of time in the gym, then it just looks like you spend a lot of time in the gym."

Hot Beyonce

Could the singer be referring to Madonna’s over-sculpted and rock-hard limbs? Beyonce continued, "I feel best when I'm not really thin and not really heavy—when I'm still curvy. I really believe that everyone is supposed to be different, and whatever is a natural weight for you is usually what looks best."

Hot Singer Beyonce

Still, the star admits that maintaining her weight is a struggle and something that needed constant attention. "The truth is, it's a lot of sacrifice. It's more about your mental strength than physical strength. You have to push yourself. It doesn't matter what trainer you have, and it doesn't matter what program you're on.

Beyonce

Her grueling workout regime involves as much cardio as she can handle, then running three miles after dancing rehearsals, and running about six on days when she’s not dancing.

Beyonce, who recently married mega-rapper and producer Jay-Z, also added that after her current tour, she might take some time off just to enjoy her life. "My priorities are slowly changing," she says. "So after this tour, I might be tired and want to take two years off. I've worked hard enough to be able to do that. I'm in a very good place.

Bryce Dallas Howard Plays Pregnant in Terminator

Hot Actress Bryce Dallas Howard

Hollywood actresses often feel pressure to bounce back into shape after having a baby – but Bryce Dallas Howard was actually encouraged to keep on the baby weight. Howard had recently given birth to son Theo, now 2, when McG, the director of Terminator Salvation, offered her the role of Kate, the wife of the film's hero John Connor, played by Christian Bale.

Sexy Bryce Dallas Howard

Howard, 28, says she was offered the part over the phone, so wasn't sure how to tell her director about her post-baby figure. "I was so excited, but then was just kind of waiting to tell him, 'I'm not in great shape right now,' " she says. But when she did break the news to McG, "He said, 'Oh, that's okay. [Kate's] really pregnant. That'll be even better.' "

Bryce Dallas Howard

Cookies on the Set : While the actress – the daughter of director Ron Howard and wife of Dirty Sexy Money star Seth Gabel – didn't have any action scenes, her body did begin to slim down on set – prompting her director to take desperate measures.

Bryce Dallas Howard

"Naturally just after a woman has a baby she starts to lose weight," says Howard. "McG was throwing cookies at me the whole time, 'You're still eight months pregnant [in the film]! Be careful! Continuity!' "Today, Howard is back to her usual proportions thanks to "good old-fashioned diet and exercise, and homeopathy to help me get my hormones back in shape, because that goes crazy after you have a child," she says.

Beauty Bryce Dallas Howard

Still, she wasn't taking any chances at the Terminator Salvation premiere. Her snug, multicolored Mario Schwab dress showed off all her curves. "I felt like it was Spanx," she says with a laugh. "I have a 2-year-old and I need something to just suck it all in!"

And the movie has been boosted by an online trailer, which has scored almost a million hits in just two days.

Even Gibson admits she's surprised by the film's pre-release buzz. She tells People.com, "This movie isn't going to put me on the acting map, but it was so ridiculously fun. There's some absurd stuff going on, but I felt like my character had some good scenes. Besides, I got to be the badass girl who saved the planet.

Hot Deborah Gibsons

"The director would be like, 'OK, the shark just attacked the submarine from the left, so everyone jump to the right.' So I'd do it and he'd tell me I looked like I was having a seizure."

Ayelet Zurer is the complete the package

Beauty Actress Ayelet Zurer

To be a strong woman, one has to know how to kick butt with the high kick of a Vegas dancer, wisecrack menacingly and wriggle seductively with the look-at-me panache of a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. That would be the wisdom espoused by Hollywood blockbusters — movies of the “Charlie’s Angels” and “Transformers” variety.

Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer subscribes to a more complicated, multidimensional vision of female strength — one that she brings to her first Hollywood could-be blockbuster, Ron Howard’s “Angels & Demons,” opening Friday.

The 39-year-old, sometimes referred to as the Julia Roberts of Israel, first burst into American consciousness four years ago as the luminously beautiful pregnant wife of the Israeli terrorist-hunter portrayed by Eric Bana in Steven Spielberg’s “Munich,” then turned around to play a fierce, seductive terrorist herself in “Vantage Point.”

Now Zurer steps up as Tom Hanks’ brainy cohort in the follow-up to Howard’s “The Da Vinci Code.” This ruthlessly efficient, beautifully designed film could be called “24, the Papal Edition,” down to the time stamps that appear on-screen every 10 minutes or so. Again Hanks dons the role of Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, albeit with fewer pounds and better hair than last time.

Ayelet Zurer

Zurer takes on the role of truth-seeking Italian physicist Vittoria Vetra. The plot revolves around a secret society of vengeful intellectuals, the Illuminati, who want to get back at the science-scorning Catholic Church of history by killing cardinals every hour on the hour and planting under Vatican City an explosive canister of antimatter, which Langdon must find and dispose of within 24 hours with Vetra’s help. According to Howard, Zurer beat out eight other actresses who screen-tested with Hanks. “There’s something very un-self-conscious and honest and earthy about Ayelet,” Howard says, “and yet she has the capacity to deal with the scientific jargon in a way that felt honest, and she felt comfortable with it.”

Trying to explain the exact nature of antimatter — a real phenomenon produced in CERN, a laboratory in Switzerland — is not for the physics-challenged. “Don’t read about it,” Zurer offers helpfully. “There are certain people like me who can’t read and understand at the same time. If you go to YouTube and see it online, you’d understand. It’s somehow easier to understand when you have a painting.” Make that “a visual,” but English is not Zurer’s first language.

Sexy Ayelet Zurer

Zurer, who now lives in the United States, actually did read extensively about antimatter and even spent two days trolling the hallways of CERN to prepare for the role. She also interviewed the head of the astronomy department at the University of California, Los Angeles, a female scientist who divides women in science into two types — those who behave like men to get along in their male-dominated field and those who are “highly feminine, and would wear high heels, and who would like to be the center of attention as one of the only women in the lecture room.” Zurer’s character descends from the more womanly tradition. “I think ‘driven’ would be the right term for Vittoria. She’s used to saying what’s on her mind,” she says.

“I knew from Ron, he wanted a very realistic sense of the character rather than that brave superhero from the book with long legs, great skin and great intelligence, but at the same time, I don’t know how real she’d feel if you saw her on-screen running in shorts. He said the realer, the better.” Despite her lighthearted demeanor, Zurer seems to possess a subtle stoic quality, which might be genetic or simply the product of growing up in the Middle East. Her mother, as a 5-year-old in Czechoslovakia, lived through World War II by hiding out in a convent, and later reunited with her family for only a year in the forest. In the ’50s, she immigrated to Israel and ultimately married Zurer’s father, a government worker who painted on the side.

Hot Ayelet Zurer

There were oil paints in Zurer’s Tel Aviv home, and “everybody expected me to do something with painting,” but then genes overtook her, she explains. “What happened was I became this pretty girl from a non-pretty girl and was dragged into doing all kinds of things on stage. I found it to be really fun but never thought I’d pursue it because I was too shy.”

She did her required army stint — singing for the troops as part of a special arts division. She admits that whenever she’s asked about her army experience, “I always get this redness in my skin and face. I didn’t do anything. I didn’t carry a gun, thank you very much.”

At 21, she went to Japan to try modeling, a stint that lasted only a month because she hated sushi and ate only hamburgers and grew two dress sizes. She spent a lot of her time there listening to the sad life story of another model, a woman she describes as “a street cat.” When she returned to Israel and to drama school, she used almost everything she learned from her for a similarly distraught model character in a theatrical version of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s “The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant.” “I used her to play that character,” Zurer recalls. “I suddenly, completely, utterly forgot myself when I was on stage. I realized (acting) is not about showing off yourself but something totally different but quite profound.”

She went on to study acting in New York before returning to Israel, where she won the 2003 Israeli equivalent of an Oscar for her performance as a woman who lost her husband in a terrorist attack in the dramedy “Nina’s Tragedies.” She later starred in the TV series “Be’Tipul,” the original Israeli version of HBO’s “In Treatment,” which was a sensation in her homeland, particularly Zurer’s story line. She played a troubled, highly sexualized young woman who believes she is in love with her therapist (the Melissa George story line in the American remake).

Hot Actress Ayelet Zurer

Zurer was a bleary-eyed new mother when she got a cryptic call out of the blue from a casting director who wanted her to come the very next day to audition on tape for a very famous American director. Exhausted, and doubtful of her ability to prepare, Zurer declined until the casting director finally revealed that the director was Spielberg and the project was “Munich.”

The controversial film tells the story of a group of Israeli agents who methodically hunt down and kill the terrorists responsible for the massacre of Israel’s 1972 Olympic team in Munich, Germany.

Her character embodies the vitality of life — a reason to go on living when the cost of what he has done begins to weigh on the hero played by Bana.

“My feeling, it was an homage to (Spielberg’s wife, actress Kate Capshaw). He truly loves her, and he wanted a woman who would be real but also supportive of her husband, not a woman who just stays behind and cries and nags him to come back,” Zurer says. “I thought she was a very happy, contented person who could survive on her own.”

Farrah Fawcett describes her story 'my own private war'

Hot Farrah Fawcett

Farrah's Story : The two-hour Farrah's Story was a kind of home-movie diary of Farrah Fawcett's life covering roughly the past two years of living with cancer. Much of the time, the camera was handled by her friend Alana Stewart, sometimes by Fawcett herself; some sequences - interviews with Ryan O'Neal, as well as a few of her doctors - looked as though they were filmed in a TV studio. It all cohered as a long, sad story that was sometimes almost unbearable, sometimes fascinating.

Beauty Farrah Fawcett

Anyone who has experienced or been in contact with someone diagnosed with cancer knows the outline of Farrah's "story": the doctor consultations and hospital visits, the often-painful treatments (Fawcett undergoes them in both California and Germany), the moments of happiness and despair. I was struck by how curious about the disease Fawcett has been, eager for information from her care-givers, giving good, hard stares at pictures of the spread or remission of her diagnosed anal and liver cancer. In those moments, she was most like the sturdy young woman so many people have long admired.

Farrah Fawcett

Because the TV special used the format of a journal from which Fawcett reads sections in voiceover, there was a lot of positive-thinking asserted, and the inevitable phrases one falls back on to try and make sense of an unimaginable death sentence: cancer as "my own private war" and "it's seriously time for a miracle."

Sexy Farrah Fawcett

In the middle of Farrah's Story there was a chunk of time spent inveighing against the tabloids for reporting things that aren't true and photographers who crowd her in public places to snap pictures of her in a weakened condition. Fawcett referred to The National Enquirer as being "as invasive and malignant as cancer." This anger, as it was expressed by both her and Stewart, is a little baffling: After being the subject of tabloid reporting for decades, she could have expected this, and isn't the reporting on her condition the least of her worries? Then again, however, no one can know what brings emotional pain to another person.

Farrah Fawcett

Her son Redmond, freed from prison for a three-hour visit in leg-chains, is a sight the heavily-sedated and in-pain Fawcett seemed to have been mostly unaware of, and that was a small mercy. It was nauseating to see Redmond, serving time for felony drug possession, give a leering smile to the camera. Because of Fawcett's eagerness to film so much of the past two years, the cameras caught interesting moments beyond the engulfing grievousness of her condition. Two stood out for me: a German doctor, trying to take her mind off the pain Fawcett was enduring, asked her to name her "best films." Fawcett said, "Oh, Extremities or Burning Bed or Small Sacrifices." And there was also one remarkable phrase she uttered in describing herself now: "a blonde nothingness." Sad, yes, but also startlingly poetic.

Hilary Duff show to love goes Long Distance

Hilary Duff is often seen cheering on her hockey boyfriend, Mike Comrie, from the sidelines, so when she hosted a party for Herve Leger last night, he returned the favor. As Hil worked the carpet at Live! on Sunset, Mike waited patiently in the wings for his girl. The twosome gets to spend the entire summer together.

Hilary Duff

He plays hockey in Ottawa, so he's in town for the summer...so he's gotta show up for all my stuff now since I'm constantly going to visit him. "He's a good sport about all of it, and he's great. I'm happy to have him back!"

It certainly looked that way last night as the lovebirds sipped champagne and white wine together inside the bash. So how do they make it work when they can't be in the same city? Hil confessed there's no big secret to their successful relationship.

Sexy Hilary Duff

She said. "We text message, call. I go visit as much as I can. But we're in a very comfortable place, so it's not nerve-racking. We both want it to work and care enough about it, so it finds a way to work itself out."

Also hanging at the party hosted by Hil? Sophia Bush and Jordana Brewster, both clad in Herve Leger bandage dresses.
